Andrea was so kind and sent me this message on facebook:
Dave, I got the news from Sigrid and my mom this morning. I didn't realize that your FB post yesterday was regarding his passing. I am so sorry and yet relieved to know that he is finally relieved of his physical pain. I just wanted to tell you the kind of person your dad was to me in a particularly difficult time in my life - brain surgery. Countless times he left notes at my house with his signature smiley face. He'd pop in often to see how I was doing with my recovery. Your dad called, visited, and left notes telling me he was "just thinking" about me more than anyone else did at that time, including family. He truly had a gift of love for others and showed that through the service he personally rendered. I will always remember your dad for his goodness and will forever look to his example. May the Lord bless you during this time of grief, pain, and yet joy. Give your mom a big hug for me. :)
